Welcome to the wonderful world of Sociology. This is one of the most interesting courses you will take during your college career. Why? You might ask. Because I am good. Perhaps I'm kidding about being good, but I kid you not about sociology being fun....and oh by the way you will also learn a few things, mostly about yourself and your environment. Ssociology is the scientific and systematic study of society and social interaction. It includes such topics and issues as culture, deviance, marriage, hanging out, hooking up, divorce, non-traditional families, family, social class, education, law, politics, fads, sex and sexuality, and religion all of which can be viewed at either the micro and or macro level orientations and often both. My favorite areas in sociology includes culture, socialization, deviance, sex and sexuality, marriage and family life, race and ethnicity, society, and religion.
