The student will be able to define the age of Revolution including French Revolution and 1848 Revolutions. The student will be able to define the Industrial Revolution and characterize the effect. The student will be able to give reasons for the advancement of Communism, Nationalism, Imperialism, and Fascism. The student will be able to define the circumstances for the development both World War One and World War Two. The student will be able to characterize the Cold War, Age of Globalism, and the current European region. Grade: The final grade for the course will be determined by the average of the following: the three highest of the four major exams, and the final exam. There are no make-up exams. You will NOT listen to music, send text messages, or surf the web during class. Doing so is disruptive and will result in your removal from the classroom and possible withdrawal from the class. Laptops are permitted only for taking notes on the lecture, and will be checked periodically. Absolutely NO “smokeless tobacco!”
